How long does a tanning session take?
It takes about 10 minutes to have the tanning solution applied and about 15 minutes for the whole process to be complete.

What should I wear during a tanning session?
While the solution is formulated to wash out with regular laundry detergent, you are encouraged to wear older clothes to the tanning session.

Will I look orange or streaky?

Hopefully not! Check out the reviews of the place you’re going, Yelp is a great place to check. If you have turned orange in the past, it could also be due to the wrong solution used or overspray. Streaks usually happen due to getting wet, sweating or not proper prep.

When can I shower?
Every solution is different, this is something to ask your tan technician. For Aviva Lab solution 8 hours minimum. In your first shower, you will see the cosmetic bronzer rinse off.

How soon can I work out after my session?
Please wait for 16-24 hours before working out. Rinsing off prior to working out is ideal, This will wash away any bronzer - the cosmetic portion of your spray tan. 

How long will my spray tan last?
Spray tans come off with the natural exfoliation of your skin, therefore lasting 5-15 days. It also depends on the amount of physical activity, aftercare, and proper preparation for the tan are all factors of how many days you can expect your tan to last.

Is spray tanning safe?
Yes! DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is the sunless agent used in tanning solutions. It is usually derived from vegetables or sugar cane and reacts with the top layer of your skin to give you a natural-looking tan that is unique to your skin tone. DHA is approved by the FDA and is considered nontoxic and noncarcinogenic. No adverse effects have been reported other than minor skin irritations on allergic people.  Allergic reactions are extremely rare and can usually be eliminated by showering.  Spray tanning is FREE of harmful UV sun rays and skin cancer and aging that can result from those rays. It is also recommended by the Skin Cancer Organization, American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association and the American Cancer Society.  

Will I smell?
Some scent cannot be avoided but most formulas aren’t as bad as they once were.

Can I tan if I’m pregnant?
It is usually recommended to wait until after your first trimester but, yes you can spray tan when you are pregnant. The solution only reacts with the top layer of your skin, it doesn’t enter the bloodstream. However, we do recommend that you consult with your physician first. 

Can I sleep in it? 
Yes! Unless it’s a rapid tan, you can sleep in it. Be sure to wait until the spray tan is not sticky feeling before going to bed. If it is, Just make sure to wear long pajamas so you don’t transfer the solution in your sleep. If it gets on your sheets, it will come out in the wash. 

Do I still need to wear sunscreen if I have a spray tan?
YES! Spray tanning does not protect you against the sun and you can get a real tan or burn through your spray tan.
